Ryan Nicholas Leong Selected as Top Youth Coach of the Year 2024 by IAOTP
29-year-old Ryan Nicholas Leong, Founder of GENIUS Generation Youth Coaching (GGYC) and Worldbuilding Adventures Academy (WAA), was recently selected as Top Youth Coach of the Year for 2024 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP), for his outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to the industry.
Inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself; only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations, and contributions to their communities. All Honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP annual award gala during the year for a night to honor their achievements.
Through strategic goal-setting since his teens, and skillful career-pivoting when needed, Mr. Leong accelerated his development of vital life-skills, distinguishing his experience in the industry and unlocking significant career milestones in his 20s. This established himself as a seasoned and trusted Youth Coach, International Speaker and Senior Design Thinking Specialist.
From design studio to career centre and eventually, the world of evolving education, Mr. Leong has nurtured a wellspring of unique worldviews. After gaining approval and demand from keen parents and business leaders, he meticulously appropriated such insights into applicable pedagogies that improve the quality of daily living; must-haves for anyone looking to take charge of their life.
Referring to them as ‘apocalypse-response life skills’, he has impacted thousands of children, young adults and seasoned entrepreneurs across his adventures. These are supported by a host of resources; 100+ prompt cards and hacksheets, a growing suite of eBooks, workshop talks and online courses; all personally crafted with care to develop mindsets that create responsible and sustainable outcomes.
He intends to play his part to nurture generations of giving geniuses – people who proactively invest in their growth and give back to the world; maneuvering decisively like strategic generals, while also empathizing and empowering with heart, like superhumanitarians.
Honing exceptional qualities with a distinctive perspective on life, Mr. Leong demonstrates unwavering will to achieve success despite any challenges encountered. From being bullied in school to being diagnosed with cancer aged 12, such few of many adversities from a young age circumstance can easily habitualise a bitter outlook of life. But deep down, Ryan chose to go better instead, successfully overcoming setback after setback, building up an antifragile mindset and other useful philosophies that he invites others to leverage throughout their lives.
In this capacity, Ryan is dedicated to empowering young people to broaden their professional aspirations, experiment unconventionally, and enhance their marketability in the modern day, especially in a period of uncertainty, conflict and the rise of generative AI. By consolidating and stretching their career dreams, he believes those who are willing can create powerful ideas and compelling stories, experiencing their ‘joy of living’ and inspiring others to achieve better.
Before embarking on his professional career path, Mr. Leong studied in various programs and institutes, including the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Architecture. Bringing these creative skills along into the education space, he merged them with coaching skills honed from multiple leadership workshops, entrepreneurship programs and business coaches from east and west, gaining both depth and breadth of development.
Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Leong has received many awards and accolades and has been recognized worldwide for his accomplishments. To name a few, he was awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award 2024 by the Education 2.0 Conference set in Dubai, and also invited to speak there at such an international scale. He was also honored among 10 Must-Watch Innovative Coaching Service Providers 2023, issued by Digital First Magazine. This year, he will be featured in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine, and honored at IAOTP’s annual awards gala at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville for his selection as Top Youth Coach of the Year 2024.
In addition to his exemplary progress, Mr. Leong is also suiting up as a faculty partner at game-changing EdTech community platforms, which are shaping the future of education. This includes GeniusU, led by Roger Hamilton, and the Global Mentor Exchange (GME), led by Arthur Carmazzi. Both are world-renowned, visionary entrepreneurs and changemakers with hearts for education. Mr. Leong has received awards from them before, for his innovative contributions to their visions.
Additionally, Mr. Leong has served as a speaker and presenter at various life skills seminars conducted at the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF), and education-focused social businesses.

When not coaching, he enjoys learning about brilliant minds from history, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Buckminster Fuller, and developing collaborations through the Singapore Education Network (SEN) that is based in his home country. In the future, he hopes to inspire and influence the next generation of educators.
